We’re so glad it’s as important to you as it is to us! You’re right that most corn and soy in North America is GMO which is why we have to be extra diligent to ensure ours isn’t. Our products are certified USDA Organic in the United States and certified organic by the Canadian Organic Office (a department of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency) in Canada. Organic and non-gmo doesn’t mix because organic standards dictate thaty all organic producers and processors must exclude the use of GMO products or methods. Check points are applied at critical areas such as: land treatment, inputs used, production, processing, handling and transportation methods. But as you mentioned, sometimes cross contamination of Non-GMOs and GMOs can occur such as blow over in the fields, so your best solution to ensuring Non-GMO content in your food is to ensure it’s registered with the Non-Gmo Project (www.nongmoproject.org). We voluntarily put our foods through the Non-GMO Project’s verification process and now proudly display the Non-GMO Verified Seal on more products than any other manufacturer! We’re so serious about this issue that Nature’s Path has pledged $500,000 to the Campaign for Mandatory Labelling in California, going on right now. It also has many nutritional benefits such as being low in saturated fat, low in cholesterol, and it contains all the essential amino acids. Both the American Heart Association (AHA) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) agree that soy foods contribute to a heart-healthy diet.
